NY Construction Site Material Elevator Car Failure Case Settled for 8 Figures - 11/04

Attorneys Joel Robinson and Harvey Weinberg represented two unprotected union elevator workers who fell 280 feet to their deaths and were lashed with elevator cables in a New York 240-1 case.

Dr. J. Nigel Ellis was the fall protection expert in the case and used the 1926 Scaffold Standard preamble that declared elevator false cars to be a scaffold when used for raising the cathead from 280-330 feet.

Contrary to what is universally accepted as impossible by OSHA and the construction industry, Dr. Ellis designed fall protection for elevator workers while raising the cathead.

For more information concerning fall protection techniques for raising cranes and elevator mast catheads contact Dr. Ellis at 1-800-372-7775 or dsc@FallSafety.com.
