Tip of the Week No. 140 – 12/18/06 – Ergonomics

Ergonomics is the science of making sure a work activity is designed to fit a worker’s individual needs.
When selecting from amony different types of full body harnesses, it is very important not to fall prey to the idea that one size fits all. There is more to safety than off-the-shelf solutions to the often unique needs of protecting someone from falling.
The many types of fall hazards require taking a second look at the unique ways to control hazards for each job. In selecting fall protection equipment, we see through-out this book there are choices which will, in turn, relate to whether we are adequately protected.
For this reason, your choice may very well need to be made with information that only you or the person tailoring and planning the job can make.
